stonehenge
Stonehenge stands impressively as a prehistoric monument of unique importance, surrounded by remains of ceremonial and domestic structures, some older than the monument itself. Many of the features, earthworks and burial mounds are accesible by road or public footpath.
OLD SARUM
The massive Iron Age Hillfort of Old Sarum (Old Salisbury) was re-used by the Romans, Saxons and Normans. This fascinating and dramatic site contains ruins of a castle, cathedral and Bishop's palace.
wilton house
From the 9th Century nunnery to the present day home of the 17th Earl. Wilton House provides a fascinating insight into British history. Magnificent state rooms including the double cube room, world famous art collection and 21 acres of landscaped parkland make the 450 year old home one of the treasured homes of England.
Heale Gardens
Eight acres of beautiful gardens, which lie to the north of Salisbury. The garden provides a varied collection of plants, shrubs, musk and other roses, growing in the formal setting of clipped hedges amd mellow stonework. Also to enjoy is the water garden.
stourhead
Visit the Palladian Mansion built in the 1720's set in the world famous eighteenth century landscaped garden with it's enchanting temples, monuments, rare trees and plants set around a magnificent lake.
